Windies plot comeback in ODIs vs B'desh

Dhaka:: West Indies may have opened their Bangladesh tour with a close defeat but the way the two sides played in the one-off T20 showed indications of a keen contest on the cards in the three-match ODI series, which begins with the first match here on Thursday.
The tourists lost the one-off Twenty20 international by three wickets in a pulsating climax here on Tuesday, with Bangladesh's new captain Mushfiqur Rahim's six off the penultimate ball sealing win for the hosts.
However, the loss hasn't dampened the spirit of Windies' skipper Darren Sammy, who has vowed to come back strongly.
"This is the start of the tour, so we will regroup and come back," Sammy said ahead of the first ODI. "We have three one-dayers and two Test matches, so there is a lot to play for. We will look at the areas where we went wrong and lift our game for the upcoming matches."
Sammy was particularly happy with batsman Marlon Samuels whose personal best of 58 helped West Indies post a competitive 132/8 in the T20. He then returned to take two key wickets of Shakib Al Hasan and Mohammad Ashraful with his off-spin.
"It was good to see the way Marlon performed. He is playing very well at the moment and is doing his bit with the bat and ball," said Sammy.
The West Indies are likely to name leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo for the one-day series to be played on tracks that are expected to offer considerable spin.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, will be without vice-captain Mohammad Mahmudullah, who is down with a viral fever.
