Hyderabad: The England cricket team will look to acclimatise to the Indian conditions ahead of their opening one-dayer on October 14 when they take on Hyderabad XI in the first of two warm-up games at the Rajiv Gandhi cricket stadium on Saturday.
The Alastair Cook-led side, who have been camping in Hyderabad since they arrived on October 4, would be eager to test the local conditions as they play their first ODI at the same venue, including the dew factor.
Since all the five ODIs and the lone Twenty20 International are day-night affairs, both the practice matches will be played under lights.
"I hope it would be great practice under the lights," Cook had said at a press conference on Thursday.
Since the new ICC rules will come into play with India-England series, the practice matches are likely to be played under the new guidelines, which include the use of two new balls in an innings, ban on runners and new powerplay-overs rules.
Hyderabad XI, who had a poor 2010-11 Ranji Trophy season, have only a couple of players with some international exposure.
Though the team has not yet been announced, an official of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) told IANS that the match would feature the same Twenty20 team which was announced recently for the South Zone Inter-State Twenty20 tournament, to be held at Chennai from October 16.
The second practice match will be played on October 11.
