Mumbai: Major changes are expected in the Indian cricket board when its 82nd Annual General Meeting takes place on September 19.
As India's disastrous tour of England draws to a close, all eyes will turn to the BCCI, with the agenda for next week's meeting including important items such as the appointment of the new selection committees, including the senior panel, along with the election of various office bearers.
Although the appointment of a CEO to run the board's affairs is not a listed item on the agenda, sources say current IPL CEO Sundar Raman could take over the post.
Meanwhile, the cash-rich IPL itself is set to get a new chairman at AGM next week.
Rajiv Shukla, currently Vice-President from the Central Zone, is almost certain to replace Amin as the new chief of this important sub-committee of the BCCI.
Among other changes, Chief Administrative Officer Ratnakar Shetty could lose his position, while president-elect N Srinivasan, who will complete his term as the Secretary of the board, is poised to take over as the new head from Shashank Manohar.
There are indications that Orissa Cricket Association Chief, Ranjib Biswal could become the new secretary as he, apparently, has the backing of both Manohar and Srinivasan.
The existing selection committee is also likely to get an extension at the meeting in Mumbai, even though the selectors are under fire after India's abject display in England, where they were whitewashed 4-0 in the Test series and also lost the one-day series and the one-off T20.
Things are likely to become clearer a day before the meeting, on September 18, when the nominations for the various posts are filed in the evening.
