Injury scare for England's Graeme Swann

Injury scare for England's Graeme Swann

Nottingham: England suffered an injury scare when off-spinner Graeme Swann had to be taken for a precautionary x-ray after he was hit on the left hand by a Praveen Kumar snorter during the home team's first innings in the second cricket Test against India here on Friday.
The incident occurred in the 62nd over bowled by Praveen. Swann was hit on the left hand by the Indian pacer's delivery which took off from a good length.
Swann was leaning forward as the ball took off from good length and hit his gloves and then popped up for an easy catch for Abhinav Mukund at gully.
Jolted by the knock, Swann did not take the field in the remainder of the day during India's first innings.
Together with Stuart Broad (64), Swann (28) shared a crucial 73-run ninth wicket stand that came off just 70 balls to help England cross the 200-run mark.
