RCA locks open after Dixit-Joshi standoff ends

Jaipur: With secretary and senior IAS officer Sanjay Dixit deciding to stay away, the balance of power in the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) has swung in favour of president CP Joshi's faction, which got the locks opened from the office after a hiatus of 44 days.
The prolonged power struggle between Joshi and Dixit had resulted in both factions putting their locks on the RCA office on July 30.
Dixit had earlier announced his decision to stay away from the RCA, leaving the day-to-day affairs for Joshi's faction.
Despite the pending court cases, Dixit handed over the keys to 'acting secretary' KK Sharma and treasurer, Mahendra Sharma, got the locks opened in the presence of police.
We have to host the prestigious Irani Trophy from October 1 and also have to redeem our prestige as the current Ranji Trophy champions," KK Sharma said.
"The camp for the probables is in full swing and former Indian opener Akash Chopra has reported today, boosting the morale of the players. The other two professionals who contributed a great deal in Rajasthan's success in the previous season - Rashmi Ranjan Parida and Rishikesh Kanetkar - are still playing in the BCCI corporate trophy," he added.
