Eng spinner Monty Panesar want play in Aus Big Bash T20 League

Sydney: England left-arm spinner Monty Panesar could feature in Australia's premier domestic tournament Sheffield Shield and Big Bash T20 League besides playing grade cricket in Sydney.
Panesar, who is due to arrive here on Wednesday, has a clause in his contract deal with Sydney club Randwick Petersham to play at a higher level.
The Sydney Morning Herald on Tuesday reported that the cricketer of Indian origin is in talks with West Australia for the Sheffield Shield and Adelaide Strikers for the Big Bash.
Panesar, who has taken 126 Test wickets at an average of 34, has been ignored by the England selectors for some time with Graeme Swann being the number one spinner in the side.
Western Australia coach Mickey Arthur said they would be interested in Panesar if the state's number one spinner Michael Beer is called for national duty.
"It was a weird thought that I had and we haven't even looked at the logistics around it. There has been nothing concrete."
Panesar could get the opportunity in the T20 League after a good season with English county Sussex.
"To get in the Sussex team, I had to improve a lot on my fielding and batting and it has improved," Panesar said.
"If the opportunity does come, I feel as if I will be in a good place to take them," he said.
A decision is not expected to be made until next week at the earliest, the paper reported.
