Chevrolet Warriors prepared for CLT20

New Delhi: The Chevrolet Warriors are gearing up for another tilt at the Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20) and Warriors coach Piet Botha believes that his well-balanced squad is capable of going one better than last year, when the Eastern Cape franchise were the beaten finalists.
Botha may be a touch disingenuous when he describes the squad as well balanced as the Warriors boast a formidable line-up which includes 10 players who have represented South Africa.
The bowling attack alone would not look too out of place representing South Africa in a test match with pacemen Makhaya Ntini, Wayne Parnell, Rusty Theron and Lonwabo Tsotsobe ably supported by the spin duo of Nicky Boje and Johan Botha.
The Warriors' batting line-up is not quite as strong but Ashwell Prince, Colin Ingram and Mark Boucher are no mugs when it comes to the business of scoring runs.
Last year, when South Africa hosted the CLT20, the Warriors impressed both friend and foe during their run to the final before they succumbed to the Chennai Super Kings by eight wickets at the Wanderers in Johannesburg.
This year the Warriors will have to transport their talents to India with their first game, against the Royal Challengers Bangalore, in Bangalore on September 23.
Chevrolet Warriors squad: Ashwell Prince, Jon-Jon Smuts, Colin Ingram, Justin Kreusch, Craig Thyssen, Mark Boucher, Johan Botha (capt) , Nicky Boje, Wayne Parnell, Rusty Theron, Lonwabo Tsotsobe, Makhaya Ntini, Andrew Birch, Lyall Meyer, Kelly Smuts.
