London: Pacer Stuart Broad was on Monday ruled out of England's upcoming assignments, which include two T20 matches against the West Indies and the tour of India where they will play five one-dayers, due to a shoulder injury.
Broad, who is also automatically ruled out of the fifth and the final one-dayer of the ongoing ODI series against India, tore his shoulder muscle while bowling his final over during the fourth match at Lord's on Sunday.
The ECB, in a statement, said that Broad could join the squad for the team's T20 match in Kolkata on October 29.
England are scheduled to play the West Indies at the end of this month after the ongoing ODI series and will then travel to India next month.
It has been an injury-hit last 10 months for Broad, who was ruled out of the final three Ashes Tests last winter due to stomach strain, before picking up a rib injury during the World Cup that forced him to return home.
With Eoin Morgan, England's T20 vice-captain, too ruled out due to a shoulder injury there is no obvious replacement for Broad as captain.
