New Delhi: Giving a big boost to revive the stalled cricketing ties between India and Pakistan, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is keen on arranging a bilateral series with its neighbours in 2012,
And though the final call will be taken after getting clearance from the Indian government, the series is likely to take place in March-April next year, sources added.
The two arch rivals are expected to play three Tests, five ODIs and one Twenty20 match.
Late last month, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief, Ijaz Butt, also hinted at a resumption of cricketing ties between the two neighbours, saying the options of organising the series are being worked out with the BCCI.
"I held discussions with Indian officials," Butt had told The Express Tribune newspaper in an interview.
"Both countries have shown their eagerness for the revival of the series. We are working on finalising terms and conditions and fans will hear the good news soon," he had said.
