Sanjay Dixit may face disciplinary action
Jaipur: Rajasthan Principal Secretary (Command Area Development) Sanjay Dixit may soon face action for alleged violation of service conduct rules by holding a post in Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) without required permission. The Department of Personnel had prepared a charge sheet against Dixit following certain complaints that he was involved with sports associations without prior permission from the central government.
"It was forwarded to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot for approval and he gave his assent to the charge sheet on Thursday.
Now the DoP would take further action as per rules," a source in the CMO said on Friday.
The state government informed the state assembly that Dixit had not taken permission from the Centre to hold any position in the RCA.
Dixit was first elected as president of RCA on March 1, 2009 and later became its secretary.
When contacted, Dixit said, "I have not received any notice or letter from the state government in this regard so far. I will certainly reply if I receive any such letter or notice."
On the other hand, legal tangles between factions of Dixit and C P Joshi, the RCA president, continued with the Rajasthan High Court staying a lower court order which put on hold the decisions of the RCA's extra-ordinary meeting held at Udaipur last month.
The lower court had passed the stay order on a petition moved by N P Singh, a representative of Ajmer district cricket association, who challenged the legality of the Udaipur EGM chaired by Joshi and his decisions to suspend the RCA secretary Sanjay Dixit and trimming the powers of executive committee.
The high court stayed the orders yesterday.
The battle of supremacy in RCA has been worsening since the decision of Dixit's suspension and appointment of K K Sharma as officiating secretary in the Udaipur EGM.
After the EGM, Dixit had called executive committee meeting here in which the powers of RCA president were curbed and K K Sharma and Mahendra Sharma (Treasurer) were suspended.
On the other hand, the Joshi faction has called annual general meeting tomorrow and K K Sharma has issued a notice regarding the AGM.
However, the executive committee has cancelled the notice for the AGM.
"The executive committee has already cancelled the notice issued by K K Sharma for an AGM, being without jurisdiction and the information has been given to all voting and non-voting members," Dixit said.
"They have also been informed that participation in unauthorised and illegal meetings would invite disciplinary action," he said.
"It is also clarified that that general body of RCA has already annulled all decisions taken in the alleged EGM (Udaipur) and thus there is no question of RCA recognising any illegal gathering," Dixit claimed.
