Pietersen, Yuvraj slug it out on Twitter
New Delhi: There has never been much love lost between Yuvraj Singh and Kevin Pietersen, and the latest banter between the two on social networking site Twitter, just adds more spice to a series which has already had its fair share of controversies and war of words.
After Yuvraj's finger injury ruled him out for the final two Tests of India's campaign against England, Pietersen had a go at India's middle order batsman.
KP tweeted, "I see my mate @yuvsingh09 is out the tests.. No more chicken & mushrooms or steak & ales for me now. Pity! They tasted good in Notts! ha ha."
To this, Yuvraj promptly replied, "@kevinpp24 hahaha..don't worry I'll be back with a new Indian veg pie for you very soon !!"
India will take on England in the third Test of the series at Edgbaston on August 10, with the fourth and final match between the two sides slated to take place at the Oval on the 18th of this month.
It was under Pietersen's captaincy during England's tour of India in 2008-09, that the needling between the two hard hitting batsmen attracted a fair bit of attention.
While Pietersen termed Yuvraj's left arm spin as filth, the latter was seen mimicking the England skipper clutching his fractured rib in pain during the second Test at Mohali.
